French bank subsidiary receives highest crypto service provider license

French bank Société Générale’s subsidiary, Forge, has become a fully licensed crypto service provider that will now enable it to offer multiple services.

French bank Société Générale’s subsidiary Forge has moved ahead of its competitors in terms of offering crypto services. It recently received the highest crypto license in France for offering various services. As it becomes the most highly licensed crypto service provider, users will be able to access many more services from them.

The PSAN approval under the French regulator AMF is the highest crypto license. Forge received a PSAN registration in September 2022. But now, with the current approval, it will be able to offer services like digital asset custody, trading and others.

“The PSAN approval is also an important step for the development of the Euro CoinVertible (EURCV), deployed last April on the public Ethereum blockchain by SG-FORGE, while allowing the progressive enrichment of the service offer of the Société Générale group in the field of digital assets to meet the demands of its institutional clients,” said the French Bank. It was referring to its euro stablecoin released a few months ago.

France is known to be one of the most crypto-friendly regions in Europe. While 90 firms have availed of the PSAN registration, Forge’s crypto license is the most exclusive. The development in France is a step ahead for crypto firms to adhere to the required regulations. Forge could be one of the many positive examples for regulated crypto firms.
