Madeira’s President spoke in Bitcoin Amsterdam about creating a crypto business hub focusing on Bitcoin that would increase collaboration.
The Bitcoin Amsterdam 2023 event saw many dignitaries and experts speaking on crypto. One of the most prominent speeches was delivered by President Miguel Albuquerque of Madeira. He created a buzz while speaking of a new crypto business hub in his country. The hub, focused on Bitcoin, would help increase innovation and collaboration for crypto, said the President.
He stated, “The association has been created to develop the development of technology and Bitcoin, and all the connections and partnerships you can have. It started with some guys in Madeira who work really hard, and it’s open to everyone who wants to collaborate.” During a conversation with Prince Filip of Serbia, he revealed the plans for the Bitcoin business hub.
Prince Filip is also an advocate of Bitcoin and was appreciative of the move by Madeira. The region in Portugal has several pro-crypto policies in place, including an income tax exemption for Bitcoin investors. President Albuquerque spoke of his government’s focus areas in the current times. It included Bitcoin, artificial intelligence, and other technologies.
The President also spoke about the benefits of Bitcoin in 2022 at a conference in Miami. It was there when he mentioned the many benefits of Bitcoin investors in Madeira. Madeira’s new Bitcoin business hub is also expected to create new jobs and drive economic growth. A key hub in Portugal could also pave the way for similar projects across Europe in the near future.
Madeira’s own position as a crypto hub may receive a significant boost from the project. Businesses, corporations, entrepreneurs, and policymakers could all come together for the project. It also bodes well for the crypto industry worldwide, with scope for growth with such hubs.
