Ethereum could decouple from Bitcoin post the Merge

The Chainalysis report stated that Ethereum could become similar to stocks and commodities owing to its staking rewards.

Chainalysis, a crypto analytics firm, said in a report that Ether price could decouple from Bitcoin and other cryptos after the Merge. The report mentioned that Ethereum’s staking rewards would be similar to those of traditional instruments like bonds and commodities. The staking yields may drive institutional investors into Ethereum as an ‘enticing alternative’ with a 10-15% annual yield for the stakers. Treasury bonds offer much less in comparison to what Ethereum is expected to offer post the Merge.

The number of institutional ETH stakers with staked ETH worth $1 million has been on the rise. The number grew from 200 in January 2021 to 1,100 in August.
