Australia has sealed the global third position for itself in terms of crypto ATMs, surpassing Spain and El Salvador.
Australia continued its terrific record in installing crypto ATMS, taking the third spot globally, just below the US and Canada. At the beginning of January, the country was in the fourth spot. A few more ATMs have been installed since then, pulling them up to the top three nations globally.
Australia currently has 234 crypto ATMs, with Spain just below it with 222 ATMs. El Salvador has occupied the fifth spot. Australia boosted its number of ATMs in the just the last three months of 2022, with 99 crypto ATMs being put in place. Sixteen more were added in 2023, with Spain losing four and El Salvador having the same number of ATMs.
The US is a behemoth in crypto ATMs, having 33,387, which is over 86% of the world’s ATMs. Canada comes in second with over 2500 ATMs, together with the US possessing over 94% of the world’s ATMs. Australia, Spain, and El Salvador have a long way to go to catch up with North America.
The installation of ATMs has slowed down recently because of the distress in the crypto sector and global economic tensions. The second half of 2022 saw much fewer ATMs being installed than in the first half.
