An exclusive marketplace for NFTs of Yuga Labs was also released.
Putting aside all bearish outlooks of the crypto markets, the ever-popular Bored Ape Yacht Club is back in the news as two non-fungible tokens (NFTs) of the collection were sold for almost $1 million each. In the recent crypto winter, almost all NFTs had lost more than half of their value. The recent transactions for the Apes have put NFTs back in the spotlight.
The first transaction occurred between a buyer called ‘Keungz’ and the famed CEO of Chain, Deepak Thapliydal. Deepak had created ripples sometime back when he purchased one of the most expensive NFTs for over $23 million, which was CryptoPunk #5822. He sold the BAYC NFT # #232 to ‘Keungz’ for 800 ETH. The deal was followed by another for BAYC #1268, which also sold for almost a million dollars. ‘Keungz’ also published a tweet thanking Deepak Thapliydal for the ‘good deal.’
The two purchases of the NFTs hold significant importance in this highly volatile market which several unfortunate incidents have beaten down in the last few months. In more such encouraging news for NFT enthusiasts, a marketplace was also released called ‘ApeCoin Marketplace.’ It would be exclusively used for trading NFTs of Mutant Ape Yacht Club, BAYC, Bored Ape Kennel Club, and Otherdeed NFT collections.
