El Salvador and crypto progress towards education project

The combination of El Salvador and crypto has created trends, but the recent Bitcoin education project could be a milestone for the country.

The term ‘El Salvador and crypto’ has been synonymous with the crypto industry for a few years. The crypto-friendly country has made extensive progress in the domain. Now that crypto adoption has steeped in the country, a new Bitcoin education measure has taken shape.

The project is the result of a partnership between two parties. It includes the non-profit Mi Primer Bitcoin and the education department of El Salvador. They have aimed to introduce Bitcoin education in the school curriculum by 2024.

“As the first nation to adopt Bitcoin, El Salvador will be an example for the world. Quality education is our best chance to ensure that that example is a positive one,” said John Dennehy, the founder of Mi Primer Bitcoin (MPB).

Students will receive a diploma after completing the program. Dennehy said the training for the program would commence from September 7. Initially, the program would sensitize 150 teachers from 75 public schools.

The teachers would then utilize the training to impart the knowledge in their respective schools. The curriculum will be designed by the Ministry of Education of El Salvador.

The founder of MPB also claimed they were in discussion with two other governments for similar programs. 2023 has been particularly positive for El Salvador and crypto. It had removed taxes for tech innovation earlier while passing a crypto bill in January.
