Ethereum Name Service is set to introduce fiat payment options for domain registrations through collaboration with MoonPay.
The Ethereum Name Service (ENS) protocol will provide their users with a better domain registration experience from now on. For .eth domains, a variety of payment choices are now available, including Google Pay, Apple Pay, and other debit and credit cards. Earlier, the procedure called for Ethereum payments. Due to the fact that they had to utilize their crypto wallets to register, many users at the time saw this as a hurdle.
According to Nick Johnson, the founder of ENS, the change might make blockchain simpler for newcomers and simplify it for them to get digital identities. He said, “This allows us to reach those who are either just entering the space or who are not yet comfortable with transacting and would prefer to use the currency and payment form they understand best.”
Users will now make payments through MoonPay, a web3 payment gateway since it has been integrated with the Ethereum Name Service website. In addition, ENS has made version 3 of its user interface available for a smoother sign-up process on the platform. When utilizing crypto wallets in the past, users had to go through various approval processes for transactions.
By using names that may be connected to active common domain name systems (DNS), ENS users can also run censorship-resistant websites.
The Ethereum Name Service has seen over 2.3 million names established through 550,000 unique addresses as the number of decentralized domain name service registrations has increased over the last few years.
