More projects are getting involved in developing child-friendly NFTs to cater to a larger audience.
There has been a surge in the popularity of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) amongst the crypto community in the last few years. But recently, organizations and corporations have taken special initiatives to introduce family-friendly NFTs as a preliminary step for wider acceptance of web3 among all age brackets.
It is a known fact that big technology companies have been involved in web3 for a while. But the news of Disney hiring crypto experts and partnering with Polygon has raised eyebrows in the crypto space. It indicates that web3 won’t be a niche aspect of technology in the future. It will gain wide popularity, and families will adopt it and use web3 content in their daily lives.
The founder of the family-friendly NFT collection Lucky Ducky, Jeremy Fisher, spoke on the issue of kid-friendly NFT collectibles, and said, “We could see that same use case play out where adults set up a wallet for the child with some NFTs to hold onto and then give them when they’re older and see how some of their favorite projects have accrued value.” He was referring to the days when parents would open a savings bond for their kids and the implementation of the same concept through NFTs. He spoke on how NFTs could be introduced to kids through popular kids’ shows but how it should be the parents who indulge in buying and trading.
