The Japanese gaming company plans on recruiting talent for service development and system construction in the slowly growing metaverse.
The gaming industry giant Konami- a company based in Japan, recently posted vacancies for roles like system engineers, programmers, project managers, and designers to increase their crypto-versed talent pool. With that, Konami has now joined the ranks of big names from the entertainment industry moving into the metaverse early on. Ubisoft would be another example.
Konami is famous in the traditional gamer circle for games like Castlevania, Dance Dance Revolution, Frogger, the Metal Gear Solid franchise, and more. The conglomerate states that it is actively researching to include the latest technology in its games. Further, they might be planning to offer an NFT marketplace to take their expansion into web3 a step forward.
In the vacancy announcement, Konami stated that they are looking for the right talent for ‘system construction and service development’. It’s to be noted that this is not the first time the company is endorsing web3. In January 2022, they launched a collection of NFTs to celebrate the anniversary of the Castlevania franchise.
Newly hired employees at Konami will be working on a ‘unique digital item distribution platform’ following the Japanese blockchain gaming norms.
