Users took to Twitter to confirm the reduction of bots while Elon Musk promised to tackle the trolls.
In a positive development for Twitter users, it has been reported that there has been a reduction in the number of crypto spam bots harassing many users for a while. Users have confirmed that replies to their posts have reduced drastically, with some praising Twitter’s new management for renewed efforts to tackle the bots. Elon Musk published a tweet on December 11 regarding a ‘surprise’ for the bots, further explaining that only a small group of people were responsible for the huge number of troll accounts. He claimed that Twitter would shut down the IP addresses of such people.
Replying to Shibetoshi Nakamoto, who claimed that troll replies to his post had reduced drastically, Musk said, “They will try other methods, but we’re shutting them down as soon as they show up. Twitter will also be moving to prosecute scammers anywhere on Earth.” Other users, including experts like Vitalik Buterin, also admitted that Twitter was getting better for users in recent times.
Elon Musk’s takeover of Twitter evoked mixed reactions from everyone, starting from the mass layoffs the company had implemented immediately after the takeover. Though it was too soon to judge the deal, crypto enthusiasts have been reaffirming the recent initiatives by Twitter for the crypto community.
