Paris Blockchain Week 2023 ends on a successful note

The recently concluded Paris Blockchain Week witnessed many events and discussions on web3 with some top experts.

The Paris Blockchain Week 2023 ended on March 24, when several key speakers from the crypto industry and others lined up to participate in the various events and panel discussions. Focussing on this year’s theme, Paris Blockchain Week saw the industry captains deliberating on web3’s past, present and future.

The opening keynote speech on March 21 was delivered by the co-founder of Ethereum, Joseph Lubin. He mentioned in his speech the importance of decentralization in traditional finance. Neal Stephenson, who first coined the term ‘metaverse’, was also present at the event as a speaker.

Robby Yung, the CEO of Animoca Brands, said, “All of that stuff happening out there is why we’re here, to begin with […] The reason that we decided that decentralization was a better way to do things was precisely because of our concern as to what might happen in the financial sector, which continues to be borne out,” referring to the crisis in the global financial sector at present. He also noted the French government’s full support of the event in spite of the local protests

The Paris Blockchain Week also saw experts discussing the way forward for crypto regulation. The European Union’s Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) was featured in many discussions as a key regulation in the crypto space. The ongoing banking crisis was also touched upon in the events, with many expressing support for decentralization in such institutions. Sergej Kunz, the co-founder of 1inch Network, expressed the importance of self-custody and how it was even more important due to the current events.

The mega web3 event in Paris thus concluded on a successful note, with many industry experts turning up to speak and discuss for the betterment of the crypto space.
