The new report also revealed the geographical distribution of the network nodes across the globe.
The Validator Health report released by Solana is the first-ever report on the network operators and the first after the recent wallet hack. The report found that the network has 1,900 block-producing nodes, of which 88.14%, or roughly 1,688 nodes, are run independently.
The report also highlighted the presence of 3,400 node validators across six continents and stressed the criticality of the health and strength of the network validators for the health of the overall network. Solana has been criticized for its lack of decentralization and use of expensive validator hardware.
