The car manufacturer will use the Polygon blockchain to enable fans to interact better with drivers. They will update regular statistics of the drivers’ performances on the Blockchain.
The Executive Commercial Director of Toyota Racing Development, Jack Irving, shared his thoughts on the news. He said, “Blockchain helps us keep a permanent digital record of drivers’ achievements that they can share with their friends, family, and fans. It also allows us to develop new opportunities to introduce race fans to our partners.”
The GR Cup will leverage the technology to implement authenticity, transparency, and greater insight for the drivers. The GR series will feature 14 races in total while featuring the Toyota GR86. It will include notable tracks of the United States, such as the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and others.
