The US Financial Services Committee has decided to conduct a crypto hearing in the current month to discuss various issues regarding digital assets.
US authorities have stepped up to continue discussing crypto regulation even as it comes at a time when exchanges and regulators lock horns over the issue. The ongoing regulatory issues in the country could have likely prompted the US Financial Services Committee to conduct a crypto hearing in June. The discussion centered on crypto is set for June 13.
Titled ‘The Future of Digital Assets: Providing Clarity for the Digital Asset Ecosystem,’ the crypto hearing was announced by House of Representatives member Patrick McHenry. The US Financial Services Committee is also part of the House of Representatives, and it is responsible for various facets of the economy, including capital markets, the US Treasury, and others.
The public announcement did not have further details of the crypto hearing, but the crypto industry would likely want the US Financial Services Committee to discuss all minute details of the space. Being the largest economy in the world, the US has held a lot of sway over crypto developments, and crypto-friendly measures in the country would go a long way in making it a crypto hub.
Social media has also been divided on the subject of the current lawsuits being filed by the Securities and Exchange Commission against crypto exchanges in the US. While there have been diverse opinions on the subject, the general consensus has been on better crypto regulation.
